ALPACA shines in new light: Release of the new WebUI

After 18 years of continuous development, it's time for a change: We are thrilled to announce the first official release of the new ALPACA WebUI! This makeover not only makes your daily SAP Basis management more attractive, but also more efficient and intuitive.

The first customers are already benefiting from the advantages of this innovative WebUI, which will gradually replace the existing interface. But what exactly is behind the new look and improved features?

A look at the new features in the first release

The new ALPACA WebUI has been redesigned from the ground up to offer you a more modern user experience. The first release already includes important functions that will make your daily work easier:

1. Comprehensive monitoring of your systems

Keep track of all your SAP systems with the new, clear monitoring dashboard. From the system landscape to individual hosts, all relevant information is just a few clicks away.

Monitoring not only allows you to see the status of your systems at a glance, but also to call up detailed information such as memory usage and the operating system. The example shows the “Basic Info” of a system called “nightly03” with details on CPU, memory, and swapping. Threshold values for warnings and errors can be flexibly configured.

2. Easy execution of commands

Executing commands has never been so easy. You can execute commands directly on your systems via the central interface and view the results immediately. This saves time and reduces complexity in daily operations. The screenshot “LIN: basic info” shows the output of a command with information on memory usage and swap space.

3. Central configuration of landscapes (variables, systems, agents, commands)

Manage your entire SAP landscape centrally and efficiently. The new WebUI allows you to easily configure variables, systems, agents, and commands in one place. Whether you want to add a new agent or define system properties, the WebUI provides an intuitive interface for doing so.

4. Complete user management directly in the browser

User management is now fully integrated into the WebUI. Create, edit, and manage users and their permissions conveniently via your browser. This greatly simplifies administration and ensures greater security and control.

5. Visualization of your process definitions

Experience your process definitions in a whole new dimension. The WebUI offers improved visualization that helps you better understand and optimize complex workflows.

The switch is incredibly easy

The transition to the new WebUI is designed to be seamless. It can be installed in just a few minutes while ALPACA Operator version 5.5+ is running—without any downtime.

And don't worry: the classic UI will remain active until all functions are available in the new WebUI. This allows you to switch over step by step and familiarize yourself with the new interface at your own pace.
