Great news for all those who use Google Workspace in their native language: The features of the AI assistant Gemini are now available in seven additional languages
! Users in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Korea and Portugal can now experience the benefits of Gemini in the sidebar of Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive and Gmail without the language barrier.
What does that mean?
Imagine being able to summarise long documents in seconds, gain key insights from data without spending hours poring over spreadsheets, or create creative content without switching applications. All this is now possible with Gemini in the sidebar of your Google Workspace apps - and in your language!
Gemini helps you with a variety of tasks:
- Summaries: Get concise summaries of long documents or emails - ideal for getting up to speed quickly.
- Data analysis: Gain deeper insight into your data and discover relationships you might otherwise have missed.
- Brainstorming and creativity: Generate new ideas, write in different styles and overcome writer's block with ease.
Good to know
While the core features of Gemini in the sidebar are now available in multiple languages, some specific features are currently limited to English. These include image generation and the Google Slides (presentations) sidebar features. However, Google is continuously working to expand the language availability of all Gemini features.

Just click the 'Ask Gemini' button (speech bubble icon) in the top right corner of Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive and Gmail on the web and experience the future of work!
Availability
Gemini's new language features in the sidebar are now available to all Google Workspace customers with a Gemini Business, Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium add-on.
