PCG: Founder Oliver Schallhorn transitions to the Advisory Board as planned

As announced earlier this year, Oliver Schallhorn, longtime CEO and founder of the Public Cloud Group (PCG), will step down from all executive and operational roles at the end of 2024. Schallhorn will now take on a new position within PCG's Advisory Board, where he will continue to support the company’s strategic direction.

“PCG has made remarkable progress this year in terms of focus, structure, and business performance, solidifying its position as one of the leading cloud providers in the DACH region. I am pleased that the transition to Thorsten Raquet as CEO and Stephan Pawlowski as CFO has been seamless. It couldn’t have gone better. With a strengthened management team, I am excited to support PCG’s continued development in my new role as an Advisory Board member,” said Schallhorn.

2024 was a year of significant growth for the Public Cloud Group. The team expanded as planned to approximately 500 cloud experts across Europe, and the acquisition of kreuzwerkerExternal Link further strengthened its position in the AWS space. PCG is now recognized as a leading partner across all three major hyperscalers. The company also earned several prestigious awards and certifications in 2024, including the renewal of its Google MSP designation, official SAP RISE partnership, and the SAP Competency for AWSExternal Link. Strategic growth areas such as Data & AI and Security were further developed organically to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

With this solid foundation, PCG is committed to continuing its growth trajectory. The company’s goal is to maintain the dynamic development of recent years while expanding into new markets and deepening relationships with existing customers. The vision remains clear: to support businesses of all sizes as a leading independent public cloud partner, delivering transformative value.

“On behalf of PCG’s entire management team and staff, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Oliver Schallhorn for his tireless dedication, extraordinary commitment, and visionary determination in building this company and establishing it as a leading cloud provider in Europe. Where we stand today is a testament to his vision, passion, and drive—he is the initiator and architect of our success, and we are proud to carry his vision forward,” concluded Thorsten Raquet.
