Public Cloud Group (PCG) received three certifications from SAP for outsourcing operations, covering "Cloud and Infrastructure Operations", "Hosting Operations" and "SAP HANA® Operations" for its operations capabilities in Germany. Customers can benefit from a highly available, scalable and reliable operating environment for SAP solutions and PCG's many years of SAP expertise.
Triple SAP certification received
The certification process as a certified SAP outsourcing partner began with a formal application. Then an on-site audit took place at the PCG site in Ulm. Since the scenario selected by PCG for the certification was SAP operations on Azure VMware Solution from hyperscaler Microsoft, one of Microsoft's official data centres was also audited. Overall, the entire certification process was covered in a period of less than five months.
"PCG can operate SAP systems based on Azure VMware Solution (AVS),” said Steffen Schlecht, General Manager Azure Solutions EMEA. “With PCG's long-standing SAP operations expertise, as well as its integration with Azure, this opens more options for customers to migrate their workloads faster with Azure VMware Solution (AVS). This can bring increased productivity with the help of elasticity, scalability, and enhanced security while saving costs."
Azure VMware Solution
Azure VMware Solution offered by Microsoft enables organisations to smoothly and securely migrate and run VMware-based workloads in the Azure cloud. Azure VMware Solution combines the flexibility and familiarity of VMware with the scalability, security and performance of Microsoft Azure, enabling it to handle large-scale, multi-year customer projects, for example, faster and more efficiently.

By using Azure VMware Solution, PCG can offer its customers a highly available, scalable and reliable environment for their SAP operations. PCG’s outstanding knowledge and experience in the SAP environment allows it to meet the requirements for operating SAP applications on the Azure platform.
"The close partnership with Microsoft and SAP, as well as the integration of Azure VMware Solution into our portfolio, have enabled us to develop unique solutions for our customers," said Igor Altach, SAP Basis & Operations expert at PCG's Cloud Services for SAP business unit. "The triple certification is a testament to our success in delivering and operating secure, high-performance and reliable SAP services in the cloud."
Customers benefit from SAP certification
SAP offers a qualified and established certification program for partners like PCG that build, manage and continuously optimise customer environments in the cloud, helping them with their digital transformation. These certifications help customers find the best SAP managed services providers to meet their quality, scale and geographic requirements.
PCG helps customers of all sizes and industries move to the cloud and is a highly professional, valid and reliable partner for the transition and subsequent process-secure SAP operations.
Customers with use cases such as disaster recovery, resource expansion or the extension of the existing data centre, interception of peak loads, system archiving, as well as transitions of extensive SAP S/4HANA® projects, can rely on the expertise of PCG.
"SAP systems are at the heart of thousands of European companies,” said Thorsten Raquet, Chief Operations Officer of PCG. “It is therefore all the more important that these companies can rely on PCG's qualified knowledge and experience when it comes to SAP operations. In our eyes, this describes not only the continuous provision of systems, but also ongoing optimisation, with the goal of making our customers' digital transformation and cloud journey as efficient and successful as possible."
PCG as one of the leading European cloud players
PCG connects around 400 experts on the hyperscaler platforms of AWS, Google and Microsoft. The business unit "Cloud Services for SAP", previously known as LNW-Soft GmbH, acts as an overarching portfolio element with corresponding SAP solutions.
Following the recent Google MSP and five-time Microsoft Designation Partner awards, the SAP certifications enhance the PCG success story. Founded in 2021 with the objective of offering customers "one-stop shopping", from hyperscaler platforms to relevant solutions such as Infrastructure, Modern Workplace, Managed Cloud Operations and Security to Development and Cloud Services for SAP, the experts at PCG are now striving to become one of the leading European cloud players. To achieve this goal, PCG aims to grow to up to 500 employees internationally in 2024.
