The Challenge

In the future, a large part of the applications will be run in Docker containers. The architecture is currently still under development in terms of high availability in the cloud.

In the future, a large part of the applications will be run in Docker containers. The architecture is currently still under development in terms of high availability in the cloud.

The Solution

We developed an individual workshop together with TRANSPOREON to simplify the evaluation of different Docker orchestrations.

The result is the open source solution "Kubernetes" developed by Google. All features, challenges and best practices were brought closer to the participants of the training. Exercises during the workshop were realised quickly and cost-effectively using the AWS Cloud.

Results and Benefits

In the course of the workshop, a complete Kubernetes cluster was set up in AWS, including functioning test applications.

Kubernetes already offers many features "out-of-the-box", which no longer need to be implemented in individual developments. Horizontal scaling in combination with auto-scaling will enable TRANSPOREON customers to enjoy an unrestricted user experience in the future.

Michael Junginger, Director Software Development, on the collaboration:

"We took part in a customised workshop for TRANSPOREON and every one of our participants left inspired. Through the many practical exercises, we quickly grasped the structure and functionality of Kubernetes and were able to outline the basis for our migration of a VM-based solution to a Docker/Kubernetes solution. I can only recommend them. Thank you very much!"
