From bold ideas to working prototypes, HackAUBG 7.0 proved once again that student-led innovation is thriving. Held from March 28–30 at The Hub in Blagoevgrad, the American University in Bulgaria’s annual hackathon gathered over 100 participants for an intense 48-hour challenge centred on Space & Aerospace.
As proud sponsors of this high-energy event, Public Cloud Group (PCG) was excited to support the next generation of tech talent—not only by showing up, but by giving back. We awarded AWS credits to 16 standout students, helping them take their cloud-powered ideas to the next level:
- 🥇 First Place Team – 300 USD in AWS credits per team member
- 🥈 Second & Third Place Teams – 150 USD in AWS credits per person
This year's hackathon saw 16 teams dive into problem-solving with a focus on AI, cloud computing, and sustainability. From pitch presentations to real-time mentoring and final demos, the weekend was a launchpad for creativity and career-building connections.
“It’s truly inspiring to see students’ ideas come to life,” said the post-event update from AUBG, reflecting on the weekend that brought together 23 mentors, a jury of industry leaders, and a buzzing room of brilliant young minds.
PCG’s sponsorship is part of our continued commitment to nurturing innovation and cloud skills among students across Europe. Events like HackAUBG are more than competitions—they’re a glimpse into the future of tech.
Congratulations to all participants—we can’t wait to see where your ideas land next.
