PCG Managed Services with a focus on enablement and modernisation

Messer Business und IT Consulting GmbH (MBIC) is the internal IT service provider for numerous Messer Group companies. In this function, MBIC operates a large number of enterprise applications that are available to users.

The strategic decision to migrate the on-premise data center to AWS has significantly increased the workload on MBIC's operations team. For the transition period, it is essential to operate both platforms while still supporting the migration. Due to a lack of resources and required expertise, this posed a major challenge.

The collaboration with the PCG Managed Cloud Operations team (Managed Services) not only provided additional resources, but also brought an existing structure and best practices to the project. In collaboration with the MBIC operations team, the PCG team took over the emerging case load and always emphasised the customer's enablement.

The Managed Cloud Operations Service (Managed Services)comes with integrated tools and a service desk. These were customised and implemented for MBIC to ensure smooth collaboration. As the duration of the collaboration increases, limits and thresholds have been further customised to ensure an efficient effort.

The parallel operation phase has now been successfully completed and the migration to AWS successfully implemented. With the enablement of the MBIC operations team, the project is now entering a new phase, in which the collaboration with the PCG Managed Cloud Operations Service must also be adapted.

PCG helped us to flexibly scale our workload up and down while we carried out a very strategic migration for our company. In addition to scaling, PCG also helped us fundamentally with the enablement of the team.
