TVB Stuttgart Handball: Successful switch from Dropbox to OneDrive

About TVB Stuttgart

TVB Stuttgart is not only a Bundesliga handball club, but also an important part of the local sports culture in Stuttgart. Since its beginnings, the club has developed into a permanent fixture in German handball and has gathered a passionate fan base around it. In addition to its sporting success, TVB Stuttgart is also involved in various social projects and is an important part of the community in Stuttgart and the surrounding region. The TVB Stuttgart team consists of more than just the players on the pitch. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of coaches, physiotherapists, administrative staff and other professionals work hard to ensure the club's success both on and off the pitch. TVB Stuttgart is a medium-sized company in professional sport that is characterised by its innovative strength and its desire to be a pioneer in many areas.

The Challenge

Digitalisation has not stopped at the sports business. TVB Stuttgart was faced with the challenge of optimising its cloud-based systems. The company had already been using Dropbox for over 10 years, but there were more and more synergies with Microsoft Exchange Online and other Microsoft platforms. Therefore, the TVB was looking for a way to better integrate its systems and save money at the same time. After examining various options and providers providers on the market, the decision was made to migrate from Dropbox to Microsoft OneDrive.

The migration enabled the company to save considerable costs, as the Dropbox costs were completely eliminated. In addition, TVB Stuttgart was now able to work better and more integrated.

The Solution

Migrating from Dropbox to OneDrive turned out to be the ideal solution for TVB Stuttgart. As TVB Stuttgart was already using Office 365 and OneDrive was already included in their licence, they were not only able to save costs, but also improve collaboration and efficiency across the business. The seamless integration of OneDrive with other Microsoft platforms that TVB Stuttgart was already using eased the transition and allowed employees to quickly familiarise themselves with the new system.

By centralising the storage and management of all files and documents in OneDrive, TVB Stuttgart was also able to improve the security and data protection of its sensitive information. In addition, some of the data has already been migrated to Microsoft Teams, taking a first step towards the future implementation of Teams at TVB.

PCG not only met our technical requirements, but also trained us on how to make the best use of the new tools. We now feel comfortable with the tool and want to introduce Microsoft Teams and SharePoint next in order to work even better and more integrated.

The collaboration with PCG

The co-operation with PCG was very positive right from the start. Everyone involved in the project worked closely together from the outset to understand the specific requirements of the project and develop customised solutions. Through regular communication and transparent processes, TVB was able to build trust in PCG's expertise and rely on the successful implementation of the project. In addition, PCG's support went beyond mere technical implementation. TVB attached great importance not only to implementing solutions, but also to ensuring that employees understood the new technologies and were able to use them effectively. Therefore, in addition to the technical implementation, the collaboration also included training to ensure that the entire team was ready to use the new tools and realise their full potential.

Results and Benefits

With the successful migration to OneDrive, TVB Stuttgart is ready to drive forward further digital transformations and continue to develop. The introduction of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint is already on the agenda in order to further improve internal communication and collaboration and promote the exchange of information and ideas within the office.
